HOLGA AND LOMOGRAPHY

You will find out that there is a special camera out there for lomography aficionados, better known as Holga and this type of photography has a lot of fans, as it is unique and with many things to offer. You might not be aware of this but the Holga camera has only the basic functions that are required in order to take a photograph. Being made from plastic and only with the lenses from glass (keep in mind that there is a version of these lomography cameras made entirely from plastic) – you should not expect for the price to be too high.

However, this cheap camera has not necessarily been appreciated for the discounted price but rather for the special effects it can create, due to the different limitations from a technical point of view.  Truthfully speaking, the low production costs have caused a series of defects to become obvious, better known as optical distortions.

The advantage is that all of the things that were mentioned above can be used in order to explore ones creativity. There are lots of photographers out there that specialize in lomography, knowing very well that the Holga camera is the best thing they need in order to succeed. For them, these imperfections are the tools that they use in order to put their creativity to work, allowing them to present the world under a different light.

There are not many people who are interested in lomography out there but those who are passionate about this domain have formed strong bonds. Despite of all the limitations that the Holga camera has, especially when compared to modern digital cameras, these photographers have learned how to use these lomography cameras to their own advantage. 

It takes a lot more effort to be creative while holding such a camera, then when it comes to using a digital camera that actually does all the work for you. Instead of fussing over a number of complicated functions and losing precious time, you can re-direct your energy to lomography and use of these lovely lomography cameras.
